![]() My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) running Android 7.0 and the Spotify app is on automatic updates. Have no problems with Spotify on desktop or from phone to Chromecast. I've run out of ideas to what could fix this issue and it really ruins my phone as a playback device. The playback crackles on phone speakers, headsets, in off-line mode, streaming music directly with 4G or Wi-Fi (though it could seem 4G has less crackling), playing downloaded playlists with 4G or Wi-Fi connected and after complete uninstall off app and all Spotify data deleted and then only three playlists downloaded. Navigate to the Playback tab and right-click on your selected audio device. To disable the audio enhancement feature, follow these steps: Right-click on the sound icon in the lower corner of the taskbar and go to Sound settings. Thus, disabling audio enhancements may help resolve the issue. This problem is isolated to only the spotify app, other apps like youtube, radio og TV have no playback issues. In some cases, the selected sound quality may interfere with the built-in settings of the audio device, resulting in crackling sounds. So far I've not experienced the issue while the phone is unlocked. Can vary from 1-15 seconds intervalls between stuttering. There is this 'crackling' sound that occurs when i use some strings soundfonts, more specifically when start to play too many of them. With irregular patterns the sound crackles/stutters/lags when I play music and the screen is turned off. If you do a Google on 'Autotune Antares audio cracks and pops' you will find a LOT of hits, including a number of threads here on Gearslutz. That resolved literally 99 of the crackling, popping, and dropouts that were occurring. In the Activity Monitor, go to Menu Bar Window and select CPU usage or CPU history. I have some annoying problems with playback from my Android device. My fix was to go into Task Manager as Administrator, go to details and right-click on 'Audiodg.exe,' then 'Set Priority' to high and 'Set Affinity' to using only one CPU. Crackling/stuttering/laggy playback on Android. The crackle however are still there and it's still an issue. Sorry for the ambiguous post, I've listened to the same sound the last 5 hours :/. I still get a crackle, but it might be at a slightly different place. I wish I could share some code, but it's all proprietary, and I'm not allowed to do so right now.ĮDIT: Actually, I'm not sure the crackle stays in the same position in relation to actual sound no more. So the question is: does anyone have any theories why this might be? Anything obvious I'm missing? it's not all files that seems to be affected by this (I assume it is a) bug. ![]() it works flawlessly in IE9, no crackles in any file, so it's not a case of bad files B. To test this I created a sinewave which went from absolute silence to full volume, but I can't seem to get it to crack. I switch back to FAIRLIGHT and instantly, the problem returns. I switched to the EDIT paged and instantly it plays back fine, smooth and no distortion or crackling. So my conclusion from that was that perhaps the crackle came from the audio being at a certain amplitude (since the crackle remained at the same position in relation to the actual sound). I can verify the issue is resolve as other music and audio apps play fine without any crackling or distortion, even at louder volume. I have windows 10 and MTL version 6.21.0 installed. ![]() As the search went on I inserted a very discrete hum into the 300ms silence to check if that would change anything. Same crackling audio noise for me but only appearing on playback, it disappeared on the rendered file. I still got the crackle though, at the same location (which now would be 700ms into the sound). So, to figure out why this is I inserted 300ms silence into the sound file. In other words some of the sounds get a crackle sometimes but not always. Navigate to the Driver tab and click on Update Driver. Select your sound card and right-click on it, and navigate to Properties. Locate and expand the Sound, video, and game controllers category. Select Device Manager from the left sidebar. Some of those sounds, but not all, get a crackling sound approximately 400ms into the sound (purely based on my ear) and not every time those sounds that are affected play either. Go to your Windows desktop, right-click on This PC, and navigate to Manage. The sounds are short, no more than 4 seconds long. The scenario is this: I create audio tags (with the Audio(src) constructor) and play sounds repeatedly in Chrome. 5) Run the Playing Sound troubleshooter at Start button > Settings>Update & Security>Troubleshoot.
